Your certification is the headline, so write it precisely

Operator certification in the US is issued by states, not by the federal government, and the naming varies more than people expect. Some states use Class A to D, some use Grade I to IV, some use numbered levels, and drinking water and wastewater are certified separately. Many states use standardized exams from the Association of Boards of Certification, but the grade names and the experience requirements stay local.
