AI Transparency

1. How the AI works

CVPLEX's AI features (summary writing, proofreading, ATS analysis, interviewer, cover letters) are powered by large language models operated by trusted providers (currently Anthropic and/or Google).

When you use an AI feature, we send the relevant text you provide (e.g. your experience, the job ad you pasted) to the provider, which returns suggested text. You accept, edit or discard the suggestion.

2. What data it uses

Only the content you enter or paste for that feature (e.g. work experience, skills, the target job text). The AI has no access to your account, password or payment details.

Please do not enter special-category data (e.g. health, religion, politics) that you would not want to be processed.

3. What we use it for

A single purpose: to instantly produce the requested suggestion (text, edit, question, score). Generated content is assistive — always review and verify it before use.

4. What we do NOT do — no model retraining

We do NOT use your documents or the text you send to the AI to train or further-train the models. We work with providers under (API) terms stating that submitted content is not used as a basis for model training.

We do not sell or share your content with third parties for advertising or profiling.

5. Automated decision-making

The AI features offer suggestions; they do not make automated decisions producing legal effects on you. The final decision (what to put in your CV, what to send) is always yours.

6. Data retention & deletion

We keep résumé content in our system while your account is active, or while you keep it as a draft in your browser. When you delete your account, we delete the associated content.

Processing of requests sent to AI providers is transient; providers follow their own (short, abuse-prevention) retention rules. You can delete your data anytime in Settings → Delete account, or contact us at privacy@cvbuilder.app.

7. Accuracy & responsibility

AI can be wrong and may produce outdated or inaccurate text. Generated content is not professional, legal or career advice. You are responsible for the content you use — so please always verify it.
